Does my mom or dad have to come with me to the center?
No. Free pregnancy testing, consultations, and ultrasound services may be provided without parental permission or notification.
What is the parental consent and notification law for minors in Texas?
Texas requires that one of your parents or a legal guardian give permission for your abortion, and separately, that one parent or legal guardian be told of your decision 48 hours before the abortion takes place.
Should I be concerned about having an abortion?
Abortion is not just a simple medical procedure. For many women, it is a life changing event with significant physical, emotional and spiritual consequences. Most women who struggle with past abortions say that they wish they had been told all of the facts about abortion.
What can I do about people pressuring me?
Remember, no person will be required to live with the consequences of this decision as much as you will. If your boyfriend or parents are pressuring you to make a quick decision, explain your needs and try to involve them in counseling to explore your positive options. You have the right to continue this pregnancy if that is your choice.
Where can I get a free abortion?
We are unaware of any free abortion clinics in Houston. We are a pregnancy help center, and ALL of our services are free. We do not perform or refer for abortions. We DO offer the following free services:
